Senior Technical, Strength and Conditioning Program
FTSA are happy to announce their Strength and Conditioning Programming for the Winter of 23/24. This program is designed for our older players (2006-2011) and will focus on injury prevention, education, strength development and conditioning
Strength and Conditioning
Players will receive 30-35 minutes of conditioning that will focus on key physical stimuli; cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, power and mobility. These sessions will be constantly varied, high intensity functional movements that allow the athletes to hit personal physical stimuli. These sessions will be run by professional strength and conditioning coaches from our partners at Bridge Athletics and will be tailored to the individual and group. They will be competitive, fun and provide education on how players can tailor their own conditioning programs.
Players will receive 30-35 minutes of strict strength training. These sessions will focus on core strength movements such as Squats, Deadlifts, Overhead Presses, Bench Presses, and Lunges. The relevant rep, set and load ratio will be developed for every athlete and where they are in their maturation. This time will not only build Muscular Strength but also give players knowledge on how lifts can help prevent injury. These sessions will take place in the Weight Room at MKA and be run by professional strength and conditioning coaches.
This unique offering of a proven strength and conditioning program in the winter will provide all players age appropriate physical training. Why pay for a personal trainer when you can attend a program that educates the individual on soccer specific strength and conditioning techniques and programming? Details for this program are below:
Where? Bridge Athletics, 130 Valley Road, Montclair
When?
Tuesdays - Jan 7th, Jan 14th, Jan 21st, Jan 28th, Feb 4th, Feb 11th, Feb 18th, Feb 25th (eight week program)
or
Thursdays - Jan 9th, Jan 16th, Jan 23rd, Jan 30th, Feb 6th, Feb 13th, Feb 20th, Feb 27th (eight week program)
Time? 7.30-9pm
Ages? Players aged 2006 - 2011 (players will be capped at 40 and split into two groups of 20 - these groups will be split by age and physical maturation)
Who? The serious soccer player (club / academy level players) looking to supplement their club training in the off season
We are recommending that Female Athletes attend Tuesdays and Male Athletes attend Thursdays
